Our programs are designed to equip young individuals with the skills, training, and resources they need to achieve success in today’s evolving job market.
OUR MISSION:
At MassHire Hampden County Workforce Board, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to build a brighter future. The WIOA Youth Program is dedicated to helping youth overcome challenges, gain valuable skills, and transition into meaningful careers or further education.
OUR SERVICES:
Career Exploration & Guidance:
We help youth explore potential career paths, providing personalized guidance to match their interests, strengths, and aspirations. Through career assessments and one-on-one counseling, participants can discover a variety of professional opportunities that align with their goals.
Job Readiness & Skills Training:
Our job readiness programs focus on preparing youth for the workforce by developing essential skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, professional communication, and time management. Additionally, we offer technical skills training in growing industries to ensure participants have the expertise employers are looking for.
Work-Based Learning Opportunities:
We connect youth with internships, job shadowing experiences, apprenticeships, and part-time or full-time employment opportunities. These hands-on experiences enable young people to gain practical, real-world knowledge while building professional networks.
Education & Certification Support:
Our team helps youth pursue educational goals, whether that’s earning a high school diploma, completing a GED, or obtaining industry-recognized certifications. We partner with educational institutions and training providers to offer pathways that support long-term career growth.
Mentorship & Coaching:
Through our mentorship programs, young people receive ongoing support from experienced professionals who guide them through the challenges of navigating the workforce. Our coaches work closely with participants to set attainable goals and track progress.
Support for At-Risk Youth:
We offer specialized programs for youth facing significant barriers to employment, such as low income, homelessness, or involvement with the justice system. Our dedicated staff helps at-risk individuals overcome these challenges through targeted resources and personalized support plans.
