The Healthcare Workforce Partnership of Western Massachusetts hosts Pioneer Valley Healthcare Career Pathways Forum
The Healthcare Workforce Partnership of Western Massachusetts, an initiative of the MassHire Hampden County Workforce Board, hosted the Pioneer Valley Healthcare Career Pathways Forum at Western New England University. The regional event aimed at fostering collaboration between high school counselors, educators, healthcare employers, and community organizations to support the development of the future healthcare workforce. The forum brought together 100 attendees from across 15 school districts, including 30 high schools and 42 high school counselors. Attendees explored creative ways to better prepare high school students for successful careers in healthcare, focusing on both certificate and degree programs.
“This event is an important platform for bridging the gap between education and healthcare employment,” said Peta-Gaye Johnson, Director of Healthcare Workforce Initiatives. “By connecting school counselors with healthcare employers and educators, we can provide students with the tools and guidance they need to thrive in the healthcare field.”
The forum featured presentations from leaders in education and healthcare, interactive table discussions, and opportunities for networking.
